A day of country music and dancing beyond the terrestrial.
The Hoedown Throwdown is a community-run fundraiser at The Pickle Factory on Saturday 11th July, raising money for the Eastside Community Trust and bringing together live country and blues, East African food, a sauna, and a rave to top things off.
Expect sun, games, a western-themed storyline with actors and hidden missions, four live bands, and a stacked line-up of DJs.
Pickled in Easton returns to The Pickle Factory on Saturday 11th July with The Hoedown Throwdown. Run by a group of friends who DJ and play instruments, the event started as a simple idea — Sam came back from New Orleans with country and blues on the brain, Chris had been eyeing up the newly revamped Pickle Factory from his sauna visits, and the rest fell into place.
The day kicks off at 3pm in the sun with acoustic sets, cold drinks, games, and a loose western-themed storyline that builds through the afternoon. Dress code is boots, hats, denim on denim — prizes for the best dressed. Four live bands take the stage from 5pm to 9pm: George x Hiba, Ross River Fever, Rodeo Kings, and Casper James. Then at 9pm, things take a turn. Let's just say it won't stay entirely terrestrial. Electronic DJs Keuph, Iowan, WaftAnon, and JPEG carry the night through to 1:30am.
On site throughout: a sauna and cold plunges (3pm to 8pm, ticketed separately), food from Ababo's East African Cuisine, games, contests, a pickle swap, and a reasonably priced bar. Profits from ticket sales go to the Eastside Community Trust.
Tickets are £10 plus booking fee. 18+.
