Greetings, Earthlings. I am Zorvath Quell, interplanetary correspondent for Nobody Is Watching, broadcasting to you from the outer reaches of the Andromeda sector. Some of the more cosmically inclined beings among you may recall my coverage from the Obsidian Rings of Cygnus Prime or the legendary Disaster Area show at Milliways, the Restaurant at the End of the Universe. Having tragically missed their bi-centurianappearance at the Andromedan Tardigrade Folk Festival, I was especially keen to tune into this particular appearance.
This solar rotation, I was more than fortunate enough to intercept signals from a sonic collective known in your language as HENGE - performing live on Earth’s Bristol sector, specifically within the cultural nucleus known as the Trinity Centre. To my surprise, despite this building resembling an Earth Temple, it concealed a powerful temporal shift field, enabling HENGE to perform from the heart of their spacecraft. By utilising your planet’s proximity to the local galactic ‘Goldilocks zone’, they were able to guide the audience through multiple destinations and realities with ease including their final destination - Voltus B.
On arrival I observed the audience as an eclectic swarm of friendly beings, some humans masquerading as alien creatures, others masterfully disguised as humans - although the extra eyelids and reversed knees did give them away a bit. Amongst this crowd earthlings and off-worlders alike basqued in glitter, united in glorious weirdness.
TALK TO NOBODY - HENGE
Commanding the voyage this night was Zpor, HENGE’s ancient and intriguing front being. His cloned body housed a live energy orb, capable of emitting psychoactive sound beams. These beams appeared to induce immense and ecstatic motion in the crowd; Some danced, some jumped around and others after the experience lay on the floor staring skywards, towards the stars, perhaps communicating with dimensions previously unknown.
Joining Zpor were his loyal crewmates:
* Goo, the Venusian bass lord, gowned in ancient druidic attire.
* Grok, the synth alchemist, weaving sonic wormholes with absolute precision.
* Nom, percussionist from the Sirius Sector, whose rhythms inspired both seismic and emotional resonances.
* And new to my records; Interpretron 3000, a dazzling robot equipped with rotational dance routines and fluent in multiple forms of Earth sign language, aiding interspecies communication.
Together, they channelled their unique frequency of Cosmic Dross, a genre mostly unknown to Earth’s databases but instantly accessible to all lifeforms with a heart, rhythm-sensitive thorax, empathy sac, or whatever your species may use to process joy.
HENGE's performance was not merely auditory but multisensory. Tracks like "The Great Venusian Apocalypse" serve as stories of planetary destruction due to environmental disregard, urging Earth's inhabitants not to choose the same path as their ancient celestial neighbours.
To end the journey, the anthem "Demilitarise" culminated the experience, with the audience unified in a chant advocating the end of production of weapons of war and the pursuit of peace, a message resonating deeply amidst the current state of earths terrestrial climate.
“We demand that the weapons of war are manufactured no more - demilitarise We demand that we have in its place The means to unite and colonise space”
HENGE’s mix of music, performance, and poignant messaging offers a unique perspective on the human species’ trajectory. Their intergalactic stories serve as both entertainment and a mirror, reflecting the potential perils and paths for Earth’s future. But make no mistake - this is no dry transmission of cosmic warnings. Their sound is a frenzied, euphoric pulse of synths, shredding, and alien grooves that compel even the most inert carbon-based lifeforms to move. It is music to ignite limbs and open minds, a celebration of rhythm, rebellion, and the vast weirdness of existence.
Until our paths cross again, Earthlings, may your frequencies remain harmonious.
Zorvath, signing off.
